The Squadron is commanded by Flt Lt Alan Talbot RAF VR(T) CFM. Flt Lt Talbot was a cadet at 1349 Squadron before achieving his commission in 1987 and taking command in 1995. Flt Lt Talbot was awarded the Cadet Forces Medal for long service in 1999 and the bar in 2006.Flt Lt Talbot is a Sales representative in aggregate commodities.
The Squadron Training Officer Fg Off Ben White. Flg Off White was a cadet of 1349 Squadron attaining the rank of Cadet Warrant Officer. He was then appointed as an Adult Sergeant (ATC) where he held the post of squadron warrant officer. Fg Off White commissioned in 2007 and is responsible for the varied training on offer to the cadets.Fg Off White is an Emergency Planning Officer for the London Fire Brigade.
Fg Off Wendy Campbell transferred to the squadron having gained her commission as part of 48F (Hampstead) in London Wing. Fg Off Campbell is the squadron Adjutant, taking care of the day to day administrative management of the squadron, she also undertakes NCO development training with all of Woking's NCOs. Fg Off Campbell is a freelance sign language interpreter.
Squadron Chairman Mark Siggers is also a Civilian Instructor on the Squadron with particular responsibility for organising the field craft element of the training programme. As Chairman of the Civilian Committee Mr Siggers is responsible for the welfare of the Squadron.CI Siggers is a qualified avionic, aeronautical engineer working as a manager for British Airways Engineering.
Sergeant Ben Wagstaff has recently returned to the Squadron having left to attend University. SGT Wagstaff was formally a civilian instructor and has now taken on the role of squadron warrant officer with responsibility for all aspects of drill, discipline and security.
SGT Wagstaff is a Special Constable in the Hampshire Police Service.
Civilian Instructor John Silver is the Squadron Treasurer with responsibility for administering the Squadron’s finances. CI Silver is also responsible for teaching Air Frames to senior cadets. CI Silver was formally a Flt Lt RAF VR(T) he held posts as Squadron Commander of 39F (Barnes) and 1345 (New Malden) Squadrons and Squadron Officer on a number of other units.CI Silver is a manager for 3663 food distribution services.
CI Martin Dovey has recently joined 1349 Squadron as a Civilian Instructor and has assumed responsibility for the instruction of Operational Flying. Prior to joining 1349 Squadron CI Dovey was Commanding Officer of a number of units as a Flt Lt RAF VR(T) including 199 (Walton & Weybridge) Squadron.CI Dovey has his own avionics business, he also holds a PPL.
CI Witchell moved to Woking in July after graduating from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, where she studied performance on the clarinet. She now works for Surrey Arts as a peripatetic clarinet, flute and sax teacher, and as a tutor for local windbands and a flute choir.
After gaining her Gold DofE award, she became the President of the DofE society at Cardiff University where she helped groups through their Gold DofE expeditions in Snowdonia and the Lake District. She likes cycling and walking and wishes she had more spare time to do both! At cadets she is involved in DofE training and expeditions as well as the basic navigation module. She is currently training for the Basic Expedition Leadership Award.
